Well hello there lovely people,
I can’t believe we’re nearly halfway through the year already – we’re in June, guys! What the hell?!
This month, there’s another Walk All Over Cancer for Cancer Research UK taking place and I realised I hadn’t even told you guys about the one I did back in March.
It’s definitely a great idea to raise money but I was absolutely shattered by the end of it!
Walk All Over Cancer involves you walking 10,000 steps every day for a whole month and it was tough.
I didn’t think it would be that difficult – especially as 10,000 steps is the daily recommendation of steps in the UK.
But when I bought myself a Fitbit Flex 2 to measure just how well I was doing, my average was closer to 7,000.
Oh dear – must try harder!
And try I certainly did.
I took every opportunity to move in work – pretty tough when you’re sat at a desk all day – and when I got home, I walked around the block and danced around the house.
By the end of the month, my legs felt stronger than they had done in ages!
Some days I did better than others but eventually, I got there & completed over 310,000 steps in March.
I chose to be sponsored for childhood cancer because obviously, it’s a cause very close to my heart.
My sponsorship page is still live if you have any loose change hanging around – I’d be immensely grateful: https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/alices-10000-steps-a-day-challenge
If you’re taking part in Walk All Over Cancer in June, let me know how it’s going 🙂 and if you’re fundraising for anything else, let me know about too!
Hope you guys are all doing well!
