It’s that time of year again – the month where men everywhere grow beards for a very good cause!
Movember is the perfect opportunity to talk about something we don’t talk about enough – men’s health. Whereas women can talk about their ailments until the cows come home, men are usually quite reserved when it comes to discussing illness.
The truth of the matter is that we all have to go to the doctors for embarrassing and, sometimes scary, things. Whether it’s our pride, stubbornness or fear that stops us from going, it’s something we need to overcome.
Keep these things in mind:
- Doctors have seen pretty much all there is to see – they’re not going to be grossed out by anything you have to show them.
- If you’re too scared to go, just remember that if there is something nasty there – the earlier they can catch it, the earlier they can treat it.
- Think of everyone around you as well as yourself – they’ll be able to support you through everything. Talk to them honestly & frankly.
Guys. If you feel like there is something wrong, go & get it checked out. Don’t try & ignore it & hope it goes away – please.
